As part of our Winter Recreation Series, The Bronze Chapter is partnering with Northwest Avalanche Center and BIPOC instructor Tammy VuPham to host this free in-person BIPOC-centered Avalanche Awareness Class on Sunday February 26 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm at Seattle Audubon.
This 90-minute introductory presentation is geared towards the curious and those beginning snow activities and anyone at any level interested in learning about avalanche safety in a welcoming, non-judgmental space.
Learn the basic approach to managing risk as Tammy explains how to access avalanche and mountain weather forecasts and recognize basic signs of avalanche danger. Avalanche awareness is an essential and potentially lifesaving skill.
